Baseball Field - Fathers Field
Thanks to the contributions and support of the over 60 generous benefactors of the 2005 Year-End Major Gifts Appeal, the goal to raise $450,000 was exceeded, with pledges totaling $501,063. Construction on our "Field of Dreams" became a reality.
Pinecrest was fortunate to have the expertise of parent Edward Mangan assist in the design and planning of the baseball field. As such, we will share more in common with the Atlanta Braves than just a love of the game when you consider both teams are playing on an Edward Mangan designed field! As the field director for the Braves since 1990, and a field consultant for every NFL Super Bowl from 1990 until the present, Mr. Mangan is responsible for some of the most beautiful and technologically advanced turfs in professional sports. He is the man "credited with turning the league's worst playing surface into one of the best" according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. We are blessed to have a man of his vast professional baseball experience and technical skill working with us to create a first-class baseball field. We are most grateful to Mr. Mangan for all of his help.
Clearing and grading of the 3-acre site began in late September 2006. Batting cages and spectator stands were added later. The dedication ceremony was held in the spring of 2007.
Soccer Field - Campo Grande
The recreational, middle school, and varsity soccer teams (24 teams in total) benefit tremendously by the addition of an oversized soccer field, which is an integral part of the fields project funded by the many generous donors to the 2005 Year-End Fields Major Gifts Appeal and the "Fund the Cause" athletics appeal at the 2007 Gala Benefit Auction.
Football Field – St. Michaels Field
St. Michaels Field is the temporary home of the Middle School and High School Football Teams. St. Michaels Field is located on the future site of the permanent High School Campus.
Cross Country Course – Via Victoriae (Path of Victory)
Via Victoriae, our Cross Country Course, was dedicated in 2006. The course runs along the perimeter of the schools 68 acre campus.
Future Sports Fields
Football - The permanent football field will one day be located at the back of the property next to the soccer fields.
Practice Field – An additional practice field for soccer and football workouts will be constructed next to the permanent football field.
Tennis Courts – Future plans for our tennis teams are to build six tennis courts in the back right hand corner of our property next to the Cross Country Course.
