The most adventurous trip you'll ever take is from your head to your heart. Live what you know. Put your Faith in Action.
Are you looking for ways for your family to get involved in serving our community? The Pinecrest Academy Campus Ministry Center, located on the Lower School Campus in Cottage G3, helps families partner with charities, community organizations, and local parishes to serve in a variety of ways. Service projects posted in the Campus Ministry Center provide opportunities for everyone in our community to work side-by-side and share God's love in a tangible way. Have an entire Saturday to give or maybe just the morning? No matter. Every person makes a difference! Whether it's building a playground, helping at a soup kitchen, or working with disabled children, when we open our hearts to others, we all benefit.
Drop by the Campus Ministry Center on the Lower School campus, G3, and discover the opportunities available for families with kids of all ages. Then, pick a project, invite your friends and put your Faith in Action!
The Campus Ministry Center is Open Monday-Friday: 7:30-8:15 AM and 2:30-3:30 PM

Community Apostolic Projects
Pinecrest Sponsored Projects
Each quarter, Pinecrest selects a specific project that is promoted and implemented as part of a school initiative. Students and their families are encouraged to enthusiastically support these initiatives as much as possible. Projects might include: Fall Coat Drive, Collections for a Food Pantry, and more. Check the school news for specific dates and projects. These projects are coordinated through the Deans of Students with the help of the Community Apostolic Service Chair, Christine Welsko.
Community Sponsored Projects
Apostolic outreach is an important part of the integral formation of Pinecrest students and a means for spiritual growth for family members. There are many opporuntities to serve in the community as an individual or as part of a group. To help our families with the organization of group projects, the Community Apostolic Chair gathers information about community projects and provides the support and structure needed to facilitate projects throughout the year. This network of projects is managed by the Chair and participation is at the discretion of the individual family members in the community. There is no pressure to serve; the projects are simply provided as a service for those individuals who want to get involved. If you would like more information about the different projects available, please stop by the Campus Ministry Center to check the bulletin board, or contact Christine Welsko at

for a list of projects.
Other Opportunities
From time to time, organizations contact the school about service opportunities in the community and we want to help whenever possible. Since the school is not in a position to sponsor and organize all the opportunities that cross our path, even though many are wonderful projects, we invite our families to initiate projects on their own. We have compiled a list of many that we are aware of. This list is also a great reference tool for our Upper School students who may want to participate in service projects to fulfill their service hours requirement.
School Apostolic Projects
Lower School Apostolic Projects
Each Lower School grade (PK-5th) is assigned a special Apostolic Project for the year. These projects are coordinated through the homeroom teacher or Apostolic Project Coordinator with the help of the Lower School Apostolic Chair, Anne Rice.
Upper School Apostolic Projects
Upper School grades participate in 2-3 Apostolic Blitz Days each year. On specific days throughout the year, each grade is assigned to visit various charitable organizations, shelters, or communities in need to serve them for the day. These projects are coordinated through the Catholic Formation class with the help of the Upper School Apostolic Chair, Kathy Swygman.
